Sex education can also be critical thinking about the exposure of children to media where messages associated with sex might not be clear for them. In this way, without necessary knowledge, they can misinterpret the messages of a sexual nature presented in the media and develop incorrect a few ideas about their health. This is specially relevant in terms of images shown in media representing the bodies of men and women, which can be believed to be role models for children, specially girls, which could later end up in eating disorders and low self-esteem.
