the revenant movie review sample
The Revenant: The Story of Estrangement and Love
The Revenant from director Alejandro G. Iñárritu is highly estimated by critics and is a form of film which represents eternal issues and offers twists and turns in the plot. It is considered a thing of beauty because of the skillful directing, cinematography, composition, and well-written script. The masterful performances of the actors should also be mentioned: such as, Leonardo diCaprio, Tom Hardy, Domhnall Gleeson, and Will Poulter. DiCaprio is expected to win an Oscar award for his extraordinary performance. Let’s move on to reveal the topics the movie reveals.
Murder and Revenge
This topic is amongst the most popular constructs of plot and is inseparable from the theme of relationships between father and son as well as between companions. Fitzgerald becomes an antagonist when he attempts to kill Glass, but he fundamentally causes more pain to Glass, because he kills his son while Hugh is watching. Not the worth of life, nevertheless the desire for revenge is what really helps Glass to survive. Nevertheless , when he's about to kill his enemy, he realizes that he must not decide on his fate and puts this decision in the hands of the Natives.
Civilization and Nature
The struggle between human and nature is really a constant theme in the movie. The scene whenever a bear attacks Glass is fascinating. Glass also uses nature within an unharmful way and it supports him. A tree becomes a metaphor for a solid man and the image of his son at exactly the same time: “And you stand before a tree. If you look at its branches, you swear it'll fall. But if you watch the trunk, you will see its stability” (Iñárritu, 2015). Those that humiliate the Natives or try and then use what nature gives them lose.
I must mention the stunning way the film was shot and the great score composed for tense scenes. In general, The Revenant has many chances to win Oscar awards and become a film for several times and nations.
